Pleasantly surprised by how faithful it was to the novel, and almost all of the cast were brilliant- especially Anton Yelchin. There are people out there (specifically on the IMDB boards) that seem to think that he isn’t leading man material. And I just can’t agree with that, okay he may not be the “conventional” hero-type (tall, muscular yadda, yadda) but he’s quirky, he can actually emote (I mean did you see that last scene between Odd and Stormy?), and as shown in previous movies he can pull off a fight scene with the best of them.
The only real problems I had were with the guys who play Fungus Bob and Simon Varner, both of whom I imagined a little older (especially Fungus Bob).
Obviously I’m not sure how completed the movie was, as it has yet to find a distributor, but I’m guessing this is it- it’s just a shame that it is unlikely to find a wider audience anytime soon..
