So tonight the season four finale of "Game of Thrones" aired in the UK. Many things happened (as they usually do) that anyone who has read the books- or like me cheated- saw coming.
But in watching the episode, and Tweeting my reactions, I seemed to have annoyed one of my followers, who wasn't watching along with the rest of us.
(And here be spoilers so...

Jojen Reed's death at the hand of a wight, just when the intrepid band of kids (and Hodor) had reached their goal, was very unexpected.
Though his ultimate fate is vague, and certainly hints at his joining the long list of dearly and not-so-dearly departed, the fact that I expressed my surprise at this moment seemed to have ticked my follower off a tad..
Which, c'mon! The books set-up his death, though later in the story. Just because the shows writers decided to go ahead with it a bit earlier, doesn't mean it is that much of a surprise. Its a case of when not if in this show after all.
And if I was truly bothered about spoilers for something I wasn't able to watch, WHY would I be on a fast-paced Social Media site where everyone watching the show were posting their reactions to it?
Still, it provided the long awaited ending to Tywin Lannister's tyranny over his youngest son, by his youngest son!
Sandor Clegane's death at the hands of Brienne is almost cathartic to watch, though I can't help but think he didn't entirely deserve being killed by her. It just seemed a bit arbitrary, and very odd that she and Pod should cross Arya and The Hound's path at all- though it did have the added benefit of releasing Arya to her Braavos storyline..
Daenerys' storyline seems to be stalling. I've not looked up what her fate is, as of the last book released, but it does feel like the momentum that had carried her through the first three seasons has slowed to a crawl- considering how quickly everyone else's has advanced.
And we did get to see the Children north of the Wall. Though I was expecting something a little different from what we got. I mean- that was just a kid in make-up right? I had gotten the impression that this race was definitely not human, especially in appearance. And yet they kinda just looked like children who had been dragged through a hedge backwards. There's a limited budget I know- but prosthetics aren't that expensive are they? Some weird ears, maybe a bit more otherworldly colouring (like a fawns perhaps? A bit of dappling maybe?), might have made them more like what I'd expected.
I suppose we'll just have to wait and see where all these new storyline's take us next year. Again.
