Peter Capaldi!
Fans will have seen him in the previous episode of Doctor Who "The Fires of Pompeii" and as the government official in Torchwood's "Children of Earth".
Personally I haven't really paid much attention to him as an actor (you can't with everybody) so I'll reserve any judgement until his first, proper, appearance.
But it is a break from the progressively younger Doctor's. And of course Christopher Eccleston was magnificent in the role- in fact they all have been, so I expect no less from this choice.
